This document explains how to configure, customize, and manage interview questions so the AI agent can run context-aware pre-screening calls, score candidates consistently, and help you quickly identify top performers.
Step 1: Open the Interview Questions Tab
Navigate to the specific job for which you want to configure pre-screening and open the Interview Questions tab.
Here you will see the existing questions associated with this job. From this screen you can generate new questions, customize existing ones, and change their order.
Step 2: Edit Existing Questions
If you want to modify an existing question, locate the question in the list and open it for editing.
Update the wording as needed to match your internal standards, expectations, or hiring bar.
You can also adjust when the question is asked during the screening by changing its position in the list.
Reorder questions to design the conversation flow you want the AI agent to follow.
Step 3: Add New Questions Manually
To add new custom questions, click Add questions.
Choose the Add manually option.
Type your question (for example, “What is your greatest strength?”), then select the appropriate category or scope (e.g., “For this job only” or “For all openings”).
When you are done, click Save changes to add the new question to your interview question set.
Step 4: Add Questions from the Library
You can also add questions from the pre-built library. Open the library view and apply filters such as job role (e.g., Product Manager, Software Engineer, LLM Engineer) or use the search bar to find relevant questions.
When you find a question you want to use, click the plus (+) icon to add it to your main question list.
After adding all desired questions from the library, click Save changes to update the job’s interview questions.
Step 5: Auto‑Generate AI Interview Questions
If you want the system to propose additional questions tailored to the role, click Generate questions.
NinjaHR will automatically generate a strategic set of interview questions based on the specific job, its description, and the requirements you have configured. You can then:
Review the newly generated questions (for example, 20 new questions added to reach a total of 35).
Reorder them to refine the conversation flow.
Edit the wording to align with your hiring bar and internal language.
Step 6: Use Questions to Evaluate and Compare Candidates
Once your question set is configured, NinjaHR will use it during AI-led pre-screening calls and score each candidate’s responses.
For any candidate:
Open the candidate’s profile page.
Review the per-question scoring to understand exactly why the AI assigned a particular score.
Compare how different candidates performed on the same questions to objectively identify top performers.
By defining clear, consistent questions and leveraging AI-generated scoring, you can maintain a high, uniform interview standard and let NinjaHR execute reliable, high-quality interviews every time.
